A great review in the March 2010 issue of Drummer Magazine...
"Another year, another ten extraordinarily talented young drummers and a few surprise judges make Young Drummer of the Year 2010 one to remember.
Full of smiles, Paeris blasted through his rambunctious solo, displaying fast strokes, crossovers, proficient double kick drum technique and some flashy cymbal work. His groove was solid and heavy throughout track one and he dealt with some tricky offbeats tastefully.
Track two - a rock shuffle - saw Paeris communicating well with the band and throwing in some nice triplets against ghosted snare notes."
Sam Pert, Drummer Magazine.
28th January 2010.
Congratulations to all the finalists of Young Drummer of the Year, every performance was outstanding and particularly to the winner, Ben Clark, who was just superb. It was a fantastic day and the line up of judges was unbelievable! Pics of 'P' are on the gallery page and you can find out more about the day by clicking this Young Drummer of the Year link.
28th November 2009.

Review by Ryan Mills...
“Who says metal can’t be fun?
Third place this week goes to ARCANE. It’s really hard to let these guys down, as they are so young and ambitious. If I had an award for Metal Spirit, it would go to these guys. It’s truly inspirational to see guys of their age doing what they’re doing. Both guitarists and bass player are of a very high level, more so than even some of their local compadres in other bands. The singer, Ian, is both energetic and strong, and once his voice matures a little more, will definitely go far.
The drummer is the "biggest" highlight in the band as far as talent goes. He is literally about 5' foot, it’s a little weird to get your head round, especially for an ageing bear like myself, but all that disappears when the drumming starts. He's tight, explores the kit well and uses great fills!
There were times when things didn’t gel as well as they should have, but that all boils down to maturity and within the next couple of years, that should improve. Good Luck boys.”
20th March 2009.
Arcane play The Queens Hotel in Weymouth. A good performance and a great reception from the enthusiastic Weymouth crowd.

The regional final of the Red Battle Band Competition at Mr Kyps in Poole. Arcane came a creditable third, so congratulations to "Better Dressed Than Adam" (2nd) and winners "Deltores".
The last band of the night, Arcane made sure that no-one went home disappointed. Rory, Olly, 'P' and Sam gave 100% and Ian crowd surfed twice to a monstrous 'epic metal' soundtrack that powered over the crowd.
Every now and again you get a moment when the band and the audience are totally in sync. That happened at Mr Kyps that night. The boys were electrifying on stage and the audience's response was equally enthusiastic. It was Arcane's best live performance to date...
“You guys were amazing last night!”
“Guys, I was completely fucking blown away by you! Well done boys - respect to all you lot.”
Arcane are going to check out the new Ranch Recording Studio tonight to see if they can capture some of that live energy in a set of brand new recordings - we'll keep you posted.
